Mike Heiligenstein is the Executive Director of the Central Texas Regional Mobility Authority. It is an independent government agency established in 2002 to design a modern, regional transportation network for Central Texas. Mobility Authority projects is a key element in a multi-modal transportation system planned that are designed to meet the needs of diverse mobility. Joint Mobility Authority, Mike Heiligenstein since its inception has been overseeing the construction of the first project Mobility Authority, 183A toll road in Williamson County. This is one of the first toll roads in the country to convert to all-electronic toll collection.
Previously, Mike Heiligenstein served as Central Texas public official in the rapidly growing communities of Round Rock and Williamson County for 23 years. He started and helped oversee more than $ 500 million in capital improvement projects. In 2000, Mike Heiligenstein led the $ 350 million transportation initiative that changes the dynamics of mobility throughout Central Texas.
Mike Heiligenstein actively involved in all aspects of program implementation: public presentations; contract management; rating agency presentations; pricing as well as personally engaging in needed land acquisition for the Central Texas Turnpike Project, SH45. Mike Heiligenstein also has been a leader in the cause of environmental and other public infrastructure public career.
